Across the country and around the world there are millions of people that suffer with the same problem while they are sleeping. Many of them have spouses and families that also suffer from their problem. That problem is snoring, and it affects not only those that are having the snoring problem, but also those who sleep within earshot of the snorer. Snoring keeps not only those that listen to it from sleeping, but it can also (and many times does) reduce the quality of sleep for the person that snores. 1. Weight Loss - Boy, I bet that isn't what you wanted to hear, but it's true. If you are overweight that additional weight can cause you to snore more and to snore louder because it restricts the air that you breathe. If you lose weight, sometimes just a few pounds, you will notice a difference in the frequency of your snoring.
2. Ease up on the booze - Having a drink before you go to bed can also increase the level of your snoring. If you can do without the before bedtime drink you will not only get a better nights sleep, but your snoring will decrease as well.
3. Elevate - Try raising your upper body by adding additional pillows. There are also pillows that are specifically made to help you to sleep almost in a sitting position, yet you can stay comfortable because they cradle you.
These are just 3 ways to stop snoring, but there are many other tips and helpful hints to be found. Most people find that medical science doesn't have much to offer to the person that wants to quit snoring, so they turn to natural methods to stop snoring.
