Most people are familiar with 'That 70s Show' and it is a good source of wardrobe and decorating ideas if you want to have a seventies theme party. Of course, table top disco balls can define the area, old records can be spray painted silver with glitter added, or left plain and hung from ceilings with fishing line. Black lights or colored light bulbs add a festive, seventies air to the festivities. Add incense, and beaded curtains, and throw colorful scarves over any lamps, and you have your own disco inferno.
Of course, music would play a huge part in your Seventies party disco. If you can, hire a disc jockey, or enlist the aid of an individual willing to don disco attire, brush up on the bump, the hustle, or even the Latin Hustle bump, and play D.J. to keep music going for the duration of the party. Have bead stringing contests, tie dye or finger painting contests, depending on the ages of the participants. Add pet rock decorating and naming, and you are on your way to a great seventies bash.
Consider having cheese and chocolate melted in fondue pots, and toothpicks or fondue forks with fruit, crunchy bread cubes, crudités, cake cubes, ham or turkey chunks, and you have easy food on an as needed basis to feed the famished disco dancers at your seventies party!
